Figured I would invest in the Schwinn Phocus so if i didn't stick with it I wouldn't be out a bunch of money. So far its been a great bike. I have rode over 300 miles and I have had no big problems. Like the other reviewers pointed out, there are a couple of things to know. One is the tubes are very thin. I have had a couple of flats. I changed out the tubes and haven't had a flat on the bike since. Also you will need to get the biked tuned up so it shifts smoothly and doesn't make noise while you pedal. I let the pros at the bike shop do this for me, and was happy i did. It pedals and runs smooth. I have gotten a lot of "nice bike" comments from other riders around the area. I am 5'9" and the bike fits me pretty good. I would say a person shorter than 5'8" would find this bike maybe a little big. A person over 6 foot my find this bike a little small. It came in well packaged in 2 big boxes, once inside the other. Assembling the bike is very easy, front wheel, pedals, seat and front brakes. All you need is some basic tools that you can find around your house. The bike looks very nice also, I like the chrome look on the wheel. I only used it once to do a 5 miles ride, and did not noticed any issues. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and will buy again. Shwinn customer service is very good. I only had one issue, and they resolved it right away. The frame on this bike is light weight and sturdy. I would recommend getting the gears adjusted because the are a little ruff we you first ride it. I stand at 5.8 and fits anyone 3 inches taller or shorter. Over all, I would recommend this bike to anyone on a small budget and wants to get into road biking. |
