My knees can't handle running, so a bicycle seemed like a good idea. I wanted something with decent quality, not a department store bike. So I went to the bike shop. Another typical story, they had nice stuff but way out of my price range - I'm aware of my ability to follow through on things (poor) so dropping $1K is a very bad idea. The guys at the shop were very nice and helpful and showed me what I was looking at. Truth be told, they were even accommodating when I brought this bike to them for assembly. I'm not all that handy and I figured it was the least I could do after they educated me. So on to the bike. I'm 5'7" so I went for the small size, and it fits great. The handlebars are right where they should be - I don't feel too slumped over. The bike looks cool to me, not too flashy but not boring. It rides nice and the shifters and brakes work well. I recommend professional assembly, there's lots of screws and cables and adjustments... As a first step, I did not want to spend $1,000+ on a bike that may end up sitting in my garage forever. So I initially went with a popular road bike on Amazon that sells for about $200-250...it was a terrible idea. The bike did not look good at all. The color was already coming out in multiple spots. It felt really cheap and heavy. It actually arrived damaged, so I ended up returning it and increasing my budget. This time I tried with a $400 budget and went with Giordano Libero. This was exactly what I was looking for. The bike looks really good. It took me about an hour to assemble it...a fun hour playing with tools. It took me another hour to fine tune the derailleurs. They were originally making noise due to misalignment. Now it switches gear quickly and nicely. The only problem is that I am not able to bring the chain on the smallest... This review is from: Giordano Libero Acciao Road Bike (Sports) Great bike. Can't believe it's this inexpensive. Have been riding for about a week now. Components are great and it rides smooth. Not hard to put together, but I would recommend having a professional tune it up. Seat takes a little getting used to, but it's not terrible. Tires are crap, so I upgraded them. A few upgrades here and there and this bike is awesome. Oh and it looks fantastic. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a solid inexpensive bike for casual riding.
